ARCADIA CITY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
Our City. Our Community.
‘An ant on its feet can do more than an elephant lying down’.
Our Story
“We make a difference” – it’s as straightforward as that.
The Arcadia CID (also referred to as the CID) was established after raising concerns about urban decay, increased crime and lack of cleanliness. After achieving a remarkable 80% approval of property owners in the area, Arcadia CID was approved by a full council on 29 May 2002 and began providing services on 1 June 2002.
What Drives Us
Our Mission
We focus on two objectives – keeping the streets clean and safe. We want to create a space that allow visitors, tourists, shoppers, workers, residents and businesses to enjoy the area without being concerned about safety. We do this by providing public space management solutions that are a top-up service in conjunction with the City of Tshwane and through work with stakeholders such as the South African Police Service.
Our VISION
Transform the urban environment of Arcadia and greater Tshwane into a space where people can work, play, stay and prosper.
